Oooh, how fun! I LOVE receiving practical gifts, but it doesn't happen too often around here! I mean I get gifts, just not always practical ones. Oh, foreget it! Foot in mouth. Have a Happy Valentine's Day!

Tamlynn is awesome. Her take on things is really inspiring.

My contribution is much smaller but was appreciated by my kids and dh. We had a daily treat, typically left on their pillows. Often it was candy or a small gift (think those foam pills you put in hot water that turn into animals). A couple of times it was fun activities like cookie and cupcake decorating or a treasure hunt. A couple of days they received handwritten notes or cards. We included the neighbors a couple of times. Nothing big but just enough that they knew I was thinking of them. Considering I was pretty sick for at least 5 days of it, I felt pretty good about following through.

Check out my photo a day blog (in my profile)on Feb 2nd, 3rd and 4th for some evidence.

Thanks for the challenge. It was fun for all of us and has made me want to suprise them occasionally throughout the year.

Thanks for the challenge - it was a lot of fun and made me appreciate my family even more than I already do. I'm going to try and continue small acts of love each day....we'll see how I do. ;)

Now that you know what I deal with at home, can I be exempt? :)
Sometimes love doesn't gush too easily at our house :)

This was an inspiring challenge. I enjoyed every moment--even at the sacrifice of getting the 'regular' stuff done...

What a great gift! Things you truly want are what matter most!

As for the valentines day smack down I did it, am glad I did it, but am even more glad it is over! Thanks for inspiring me!

Oh--and I should go back and edit my post to add one of my husband's favorite valentine traditions... he takes me to CVS each Valentine's Day, and we pick out our top three cards to each other, laugh, and then put them back in the rack. It's what we like to call Provident Valentine-ing.
:)

I decided to tell you my Top 5 "smackdown"s (not in any particular order):

#1- Made sugar cookies for my YW and good friends

#2- Left love notes around the house for Brian to find (one a day)

#3- For Lily, I refinished some dressers for her bedroom. (this was a new challenge for me. I hadn't done this before)

#4- Romantic, candle-lit dinner for Brian

#5- Homemade valentines sent to grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts& uncles, and cousins (with Lily's handprint to make extra special)

It's been a great two weeks waking up and figuring out how to show and teach others to love. www.schenewarks.blogspot.com. The newest post, 14 days of love. Thanks! I look forward to next year already.

I took the challenge...my things were more practical, things I would normally do anyway but I thought about it more while I was doing them.
