2010 Edition of the 14 Days of Valentines Smackdown Challenge

Yes, it's that time of year, the time you have waited for. I am happy to announce the 14 days of love challenge is back. That means 14 days of loving behaviors. You can do it for your kids, for your spouse, for your friends-- cause they "can't get enough of your love". (cue Barry White) While there are "50 ways to leave your lover" there are over 250 ways to love your lover- so here is the list 250 ways to say I love you  in case you are "all out of love"-ing ideas.

Because the "what the world needs now is love sweet love". So bring your A-game cause smart mama can out love you anyday of the week. (You also know I can talk a little smack to get some healthy competition going).

Last year we had quite he impressive shows of loving behaviors. And this year I want to see more!

And there is a prize...if you succcessfully complete the challenge and return and report via blog or email you will be in the running for a set of my domestic cards.

And well if you live near me you can get int he spirit in person as I will be teaching a loving behaviors class at my church on feb 9th-All are welcome-- if you want more details you can contact me.

Also I am posting at segullah today about why valentines day...so catch me there

"I wanna know what love is, I want you to show me"

XO, smartmama

So, just to make sure I understand. Do I choose one person for all 14 days, or pick and choose each day?(one thing per day, for whoever, spouse, kid, friend?)

karen -you can do it weither way- I had a friend who last year focused on something different everyday of hte challenge like neighbors, spouse, child, friend etc.

I beat you to it. The kids had so much fun with this last year that we started as a family in January. The house is already covered with paper hearts, each representing loving actions by one of us.

Hey, this is Amanda from the RC - love the post and really dig your article at Segullah - and agree frankly that marriage has been liberating and no way on God's green earth would I be the woman I am today without the support of my husband. I'm going to focus on him for the 14 days.

This is my first time to your blog, found you while visiting Segullah. I like the idea of 14 days of love, so, I'm in, I think. I'm not so great with the blog posting these days...or ever, frankly, but maybe this is the boost I need?

I'm in. As long as showing compassion to random strangers can count. I started last night with a passengers whose spouse had died the night before. In addition to taking special care of her during the flight, I wrote her a note from our crew expressing our feelings and condolances,, and arranged to have someone meet her on the ground to shepphard her to her destination (a little "Blue Carpet" treatment). I'm going to be surrounded by co-workers & customers all this week, but then I can shift focus to my family & the rest of my posse.
