As i pulled the "harvest gold" tupperware pitcher from my parents shelf to make oranges juice- i realized that pitcher was 33 years old and it reminded me of a powerful truth
BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU REGISTER FOR AND BUY WHEN NEWLY MARRIED FOR IT WILL GO WITH YOU TO THE GRAVE!
I don't have anything quite that heinous haunting me yet- i purposely shot for timeless and neutral- although i am realizing some dish towels are excessively ugly! But i will admit buyers remorse on the office couch - it was originally for my dh's home office 5 yrs ago- we were forced to pick something at ikea (navy and white check) and his company paid for it-- its a sleeper sofa so it's too practical and in perfect shape and my cheapness won't let me replace it-- the fabric totally bugs me...
whats you're biggest early marriage purchase mistake or wedding gift that is starting to turn your stomach.

I think ours were our colors. So pretty at the reception, dark green with a couple yellow flowers for an accent. Too bright is the yellow and green quilt, the yellow and green towels, the green matted and framed artwork....
and now I want a red and beige house.
Blue kitchen stuff. It's slowly "disappearing." The navy blue towels we registered for and got are totally useless and sit in our linen closet unused. They deposit navy blue lint all over the body no matter how many times I've washed and dried them.
the miracle thaw? the plastic pointesttia platter? the heinous pink and purple flower painting? Oh no, wait a second, we didn't actually register for those delights.
I'd have to say our original couch and loveseat too. We picked out new cushions for an old wood-frame couch my parents had in their basement and they bought us the matching loveseat. The couch eventually bit the dust, but we still have the loveseat in our playroom. It looks fine, but it is so freaking uncomfortable! I can't wait for the day when I can finally justify giving the darn thing away.
a chopster. Got 5 of them that I'm sure were "regifted" to us and of course couldn't even take them back because the brand/style didn't exist anymore!
ditto on the colors I originally envisioned for my house! Eeek!
I heard the other day that harvest gold stuff was now collectable. Along with all the avocado green lovelies. Shhhhudderrrr!
