Thanks for all who weighed in on the broad billed hummingbird-- still haven't decided on other additions- branches, flowers-- but the yellow was a winner! You guys are great artists. There is something so vibrant about it I am afraid of cluttering it. (I promise no more art or bird blogging for a while lest i lose my devout readers)

I really like the yellow! I think if you add much the beauty of the bird may get lost... but with that yellow, a gorgeous sunset and flowers would ROCK!

In the last couple of years I have tried watercolors (one word or two??) and oil painting. I am not good, but it sure is a cool hobby.
no don't feel stupid- i paint in acrylics (safest and most flexible medium i think--)-- i don't like oils cause they are so slow drying and the toxic solvent factor-(I hate worrying about ventilation or painting around my kids or pregnant-etc) I like watercolors but you have to worry about it getting muddy- i like to layer alot- so its not the best medium for me--try acrylics they rock--if you check out the link- MY ART you can see more of my stuff-- yep so fun!
